Maigodiya Center for Youth Development (MCYD)
is a youth, children and women focused development center established in 2005. It is registered as a non-profit, non-governmental organization in 2005 with headquarters in Jalingo and field offices in Adamawa and Bauchi States.  The center carries out development research and work with Governments at all levels, community/religious leaders and donor agencies to address issues around Maternal, Newborn and child health, WASH, HIV & AIDS and women economic empowerment.

MCYD is well known for Health System Strengthening, Maternal and Child Health, Health Budget Advocacy and Social Accountability. The Centre has a strong presence in Northern Nigeria especially in the North East.

To improve health outcome and save lives by transforming health systems through generation of data and the use of evidence-based advocacy for policies and decision making.

MCYD operates by generating evidence for advocacy. Our evidence-based advocacy stands us out in addition to our convening power in the health sector and capacity to promote partnerships and collaboration.

OBJECTIVE:

  1. To implement health system strengthening programmes that would reduce communicable and non-communicable diseases as well as improve maternal, newborn and child health while promoting reproductive health education for women and youths.

  2. To engage in evidence-based advocacy for policies and decision making that will improve the lives of citizens.

  3. To empower women and youth through education, household economic strengthening, skill acquisition and access to finances.

  4. To be the leading thought partner and trusted adviser in the health sector for System Strengthening, Health Budget Advocacy and Maternal and Child Health issues.
