The challenge of development in Nigeria today is huge. Development indices are low across board. The place of Youth, Women and Children is precarious. The health status of majority of citizens is poor, there are issues of poverty, weak health system, high maternal and child mortality, limited access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, lack of Youth and Women Empowerment, vulnerability of children. It is the desire to address this issues to lead to the formation of Center for Youth Development and Social Research in 2005 (renamed Maigodiya Center for Youth Development in 2010) focused on the development of Youth, Women and Children.
Maigodiya Center is well known for Health System Strengthening, Maternal and Child Health, Health Budget Advocacy and Social Accountability. The Center has presence in Northern Nigeria especially in the North East.
